Facing History, Facing Ourselves: Civil Rights

This annotated bibliography has been created on behalf of Ms. Paula Owens, to suggest additional resources for use in the Facing History, Facing Ourselves: Civil Rights course.  Although the program has a comprehensive semester-long class on civil rights, it focuses exclusively on the African-American Civil Rights Movement.  Therefore, the majority of the sources compiled relate to the other civil rights movements of the 20th century: the Women's Rights Movement, the Mexican-American/Chicano Rights Movement, and the Gay Rights Movement.   The bibliography has been divided by subject matter and by source type.   All sources are available either through the Boston Public Library network, its online databases, or through the internet.
